Senphonix is designed around a simple principle: Monitoring should reduce burden, not redistribute it. The patent-pending SleeveSense™ platform automates vital sign collection using a comfortable, long-term wearable sleeve that captures physiological data continuously without requiring patient participation or routine staff oversight. No straps, no adhesives, and no limits on length of wear.
Automation is the defining feature. Nurses do not need to initiate measurements, manage devices, replace batteries, or supervise charging. Patients do not need to interact with the system, remember instructions, or adjust behavior. Monitoring occurs continuously, regardless of location or time of day.
In hospital environments, Senphonix uses long-range radio communications (LoRa) to provide reliable coverage across large facilities without relying on congested Wi-Fi networks. This allows continuous monitoring without adding network strain or requiring infrastructure upgrades. In outpatient settings, the system transitions automatically to Bluetooth communication through the patient’s smartphone, maintaining passive monitoring without patient involvement.

“If I have to manage another device, charge something, or remind patients to use it, it is not going to last. Automation only works if it disappears into the background.”
Data is made available with a secure API (application programming interface) via the Senphonix HIPAA-compliant cloud, which is hosted on Microsoft Azure. Once connected, electronic health records can retrieve data when clinicians choose to review vitals. Likewise, alerting platforms can access continuous data using the API, then apply the thresholds already defined by the healthcare system. Senphonix does not generate alerts, set thresholds, or push data automatically. This approach preserves clinical governance, avoids alarm fatigue, and integrates cleanly into existing workflows.
The result is automated monitoring that operates quietly in the background, restoring clinical attention where it matters most. Everything, from sleeves to radios, to chargers is provided to the healthcare system without the need to purchase anything with capital dollars. Instead, Senphonix offers a per patient subscription for inpatients and a per patient per month subscription for outpatients. No additional fees or surprises, keeping expenditures at scale with patient volume.
This automation drives time savings for nurses, cost avoidance for healthcare organizations, and better outcomes for patients, as illustrated below.

“Thank you for thinking about nurses.”
When implementing with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Senphonix will use it with Secure Connections enabled (Bluetooth 4.2 or later), leveraging AES-128 encryption with Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman (ECDH) key exchange for strong authentication and data confidentiality. Data transmitted from the Bluetooth receiver to the Azure IoT Hub or Event Hub will be secured using TLS 1.2 or 1.3.
For LoRa implementations, data from the device to the LoRa gateway will be encrypted using LoRaWAN 1.1 or later with AES-128 encryption—AppSKey for payload confidentiality and NwkSKey for message integrity. Data from the gateway to the LoRaWAN network server, and then to the Azure IoT Hub or Event Hub, will be transmitted over TLS 1.2 or 1.3 for secure transport.
Regardless of the implementation choice, once in Azure, data will be encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS, with proper access controls and key management via Azure Key Vault.

“The appeal here is that the data arrives without us having to redesign workflows or add headcount.”
SleeveSense™ will be available upon FDA clearance, which is expected in early 2027.
